OVERVIEW
Goals

Make a casual card battle game. Come up with card ideas, balance cards, come up with feature to grow and scale the game

 

Description 

Gameplay: Battle uno game, uses Uno's colour mechanics mixed with battle elements; eliminate opponents by dealing damage to enemies. 1 v 3 game. Strategize on what cards to play.

Card battle is an interesting concept mixes uno's colour mechanic (only cards of the same colour can be played) and mixed with battle mechanics (deal damage, shield up, healing, steal opponent cards etc)​

​

My primary role in this game was economy and balancing. I pitched card ideas and then balanced them in terms of power, ability and upgrades. Created and balanced game economy for this game also. Apart from this, pitched a large variety of features to support the meta of the game. 

​

Some of the features I worked on include: Card Balancing, Game economy, upgrade economy, cash economy, game flow, UI/UX improvements, deck building mechanics, FTUE, Matchmaking, Tournaments, IAP, Game modes, Friend Matches and online games, Rewarded and intersitial Ads, Streak events, Bot Logic etc

The game got later re-skinned into Tower Clash, its the same game however with an upgraded level-up flow (season pass style) and card balancing

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLES
Key responsibilities 
  • Designing and implementing the in-game economy, including virtual currency systems, item pricing, and reward structures.

  • Balancing the game's economy to ensure that it is engaging and sustainable, while also being accessible to players.

  • Working with the development team to ensure that systems and features are technically feasible and can be integrated into the game.

  • Creating and maintaining game design documents and specifications to ensure that the economy and systems are well-documented and understood by all team members.

  • Monitoring and analyzing the performance of the economy and systems, making data-driven decisions to optimize player experience.

  • Worked on a wide range of key systems and features such as: Card Mechanics, Match-Matching, Friends and Social Systems, Card Trading, Bot Logic, Loot Boxes, Ads and Monetization, In-Game Store and IAP, Retention Notifications, FTUE and Tutorial etc.

EXPERIENCE
Learning opportunity

I am really grateful to have one of the best economy designers in the country to mentor me on this project. Under his leadership, I got to learn and simulate economies effectively. 

This game was made when the start-up company was just picking off as a result of which I got to learn more about game development as a whole.
