OVERVIEW
Goals
An adaptation of the viral internet game 'Wordle'
Description
Gameplay: The player attempts to guess the secret 5-letter word of the day by typing in another valid 5-letter word. Letters in common between the secret word and guessed word are highlighted. The Player has to guess the secret word in 6 turns.

DWP started as a small experiment, a game made in 2 weeks with a team of 5, the idea was to ride the wave of the growing trend of the internet game 'Wordle' which got really popular around the end of 2021 and staring of 2022.
​
The primary role was to grow and develop this free game into a game that has good retention, session and monetization. As a game designer, I pitched feature ideas to the management to grow and scale the game, The features I worked on were: Difficulty modes (session-time), Power-ups: Hint and Retry (monetization), community share (engagement, community building), custom wordle (sharing, session), Archives (play old words), IAP Economy (monetization)

The game's core focus was facebook therefore there was a lot of emphasis on sharing and social features. The game's biggest challenge to solve was session length because the game only offered 1 puzzle every day.

EXPERIENCE
Learning opportunity
DWP was an amazing learning opportunity, this three-week experimental game turned out to be one of the company's most successful games of 2022.
I could really showcase my skills as a Game Designer, as well as an interim artist and project manager.
​
The success and speed of developing this game led me to the prototype team where I aim to replicate the success of DWP on more projects.
