OVERVIEW
Goals

Market research, prototype and test new game ideas and mechanics for the company. Pitch selected ideas to the stakeholders. Approved projects go head for production with external game-dev studios

Description 

Role: Research the market for trends and came up with new games and features that could succeed on Facebook. Made prototypes for these ideas with a developer, prototypes included the main core-loop and the MVP features for the playable game. Once the project was approved, made detailed GDDs and worked with developers to make these games.

Genres for these games included: Word games, puzzle games, casual games, simulation and board games. 

​

The gallery below has showcased 4 of these games:

1. Word Master Tile Letter Puzzle: This is a tile match game mixed with a word game. Tap on the available tiles to create words. 

​

2. Crossword Jigsaw:  A daily game that challenges you to solve crosswords with a unique twist! Piece together the answer in this combination of a trivia game, crossword puzzles and jigsaw pieces.

​

3. Number Match Ten: A number matching game where the player finds adjacent numbers with either the same value or a value that sums up to 10 

​

4. Word Find Pet Rescue: Unscramble 4 or 5-letter words to find the hidden animal under the pieces

​

The core focus for these games was:

1. Create simple competitive systems that work in social scenarios. Focus on sharing and shareability. These little bite-sized games are perfect for sharing 

​

2. Daily Games: Allow new content to be unlocked everyday

Key responsibilities 
  • Conducted research and development of new game concepts, mechanics, and technologies.

  • Worked with my team do deliver 1 game prototype per month along with its thorough documentation 

  • Simulated the systems required and the economy. Passed down all the documentation to external teams for production 

  • Built and tested prototypes of new game concepts and features.

  • Conducted user research and playtesting to gather feedback and insights on new game concepts and features.

  • Stayed up-to-date with industry trends and new developments 

EXPERIENCE
Learning opportunity

Got to work on a wide varietyety of games in a short period of time. 

Learned how to do effective deconstructions fast and even re-create popular game mechanics from scratch.
